This year's Sweetheart Ride features a wet ford that is optional. We are trying to find a volunteer photographer to take pictures of the cars that choose to go splashing through the ford. We would love you for it! It should only take a couple of hours between meeting up with us in Weatherford and going out to take the pictures (plus your travel time to and from Weatherford of course).

The General Instructions have been posted. They are the rules the rally will be run by. Click the link or look at them below.

A blank "backup" solutions form has been posted below in case you want the security of a paper backup.

The Certificate of Insurance for the rally is already posted below and the Safety Check Report will be added when it becomes available.

Plans for the 2022 edition of Sweetheart Ride are well underway.

The details and registration information are at MotorsportReg.com.

Want to learn even more about the road rally before (or after) signing up? Simply register for and attend the free Sweetheart Ride Online Rally School which will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday February 12, 2022. If you can't make that Zoom meeting a video of it will be posted a day or two after it takes place. Slides showing the installation of the Richta Competitor app on an Android 8.1 smartphone are discussed extensively in the video of last year's school.

The Richta Competitor app is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. A somewhat "official" version of information about the app is available via this link to a Detroit Region web page.

Last year's "Test Your Tech Road Rally Loop" starting from Buc-ee's near the Texas Motor Speedway is also still available. Using it you can try out your equipment and get a feel for how to run the rally. Doing this test is completely optional. Be aware that if you run it now it still needs some updates to catch it up with changes around the Speedway since February 2021. Even if you do not run the "Test Your Tech Road Rally Loop" you should take time at your leisure to read through the loop's Google Form to improve your understanding of how SRRR will unfold. It is also essential to try filling out the form to be sure your device and browser combination will work on the rally.

I hope to see you on February 12th and 20th.

Note of interest to all potential 2022 Sweetheart Ride participants:

The important point in the note below is in bold.

Some folks might notice that the 2022 SRRR event comes and goes in the Richta Competitor app's list of events. When it is not listed it is because I'm doing updates to it. Even when it is listed registering on it (which downloads its data to your phone) does not mean that you will get the same data as what will be needed for rally. If you do happen to download the data for the rally at a time while I have the event up so I can make a test run through it you will still have to "unregister" from the event (which dumps that data) and reregister to download the new data that will be made available for everyone to upload after 7 pm on Saturday evening February 19th. As a side note even when you do have the Competitor app data for a rally on your phone that data is not in a format that is available for you to peruse so actually having the data well before the rally starts is not necessary. As reassurance I can let you know from personal experience that on the first rally I attended where the Competitor app was used I hit some snags using my phone and didn't even get the data for the event until 5 or 10 minutes after the event started and everything worked out just fine. John Poulos and I will be doing everything we can to make sure everyone has the Competitor app up and running well before noon on Sunday the 20th. It really is a great little app and it has been used for many events already (just not in exactly the same way we will be using it).
